In the Drôme-Provencal lays our 250 years old fermette. The Drome is a French department and the provence is a region, so the farm is located in the south part of the Drome with belongs to the region the provence. The farm is surrounded by 17 ha land, in the middle of nature and surrounded by mountains. Quietness and a lot of space are the ingredients, you will find on this beautiful spot. The farm is situated close (800 mtr.) to a small medieval mountain village called Rochebaudin and in short distance (3km.) from the Rhône valley. The farm has been restored completely, but we tried to keep the authentic character, in and around the house. The walls of the farm are entire"en pierre".
The farm is divided into two houses:
Our fermette Les Villards constists of two houses, the former residential house known as Les Tilleuls (LT 8-People). The second home, which was formerly used as a stable, is now completely rebuild as Les Platanes (LP 16 people) So in a total we can accommodate 24 people. The apartments are completely divided with a big limestone "en pierre" wall. Also the fact that LT at the south side and LP at the north side of the farm is situated ensures full privacy for both of the apartments. They both do have their own entry (250 meters away of each other), own terraces, their own carport as well as barbeque, and even their own swimming pool.
Les Tilleuls:
The house can accommodate 8 persons. Above the eat-in kitchen and living room, 4 bedrooms have been situated. You will find also two bathrooms foreseen of all modern comfort. The total square meters living area of the house amounts approximately 100 M2. The eat-in kitchen of the house measures 5 by 5 mtr. The living room has the same dimensions. Above the kitchen as well as the living room, two areas, which are separated by each other, by a door, were founded. In these spaces, respectively a parent’s bedroom and a new children bedroom as well as a new bathroom were erected. These rooms are accessible by a small corridor. Thus makes it interesting to live in the house with two families (each family has its own bathroom and two bedrooms). Each of these two units, have a bedroom with a queen-size bed which measures 1.40 by 2.00 mtr. The children bedroom accommodates two single beds each(2x80 by 2.00 mtr. In the living room you will find also a sleeping-sofa (1.40 by 2. 00mtr.) and a special chair for babies.
Around the house you will find various terraces, the terrace in front of the house lies on the south-side (many sun), but close to this terrace, the head terrace has a large table under the trees (shade) and a big barbecue under 4 old Cherrie trees. On this terrace, You can sit the whole day in the shade.
The swimming pool of LT is a rectangular pool, with a beach entry, starting at 20 cm until 1.60 cm at it’s deepest point. There is a shower and in the evening you can light the pool (full-colour-led light with a remote control). It is safe for children by a fence with can be locked.Les Platanes: The stable (Les Platanes), is suited to accommodate 16 people. The living room (television), kitchen (dishwasher, oven/magnetron and two refrigerators), bathroom (toilet, 2-persons sink as well as a 2-persons shower), wine cellar as well as two bedrooms are situated on the ground floor. In the wine cellar you find a queens bed (180X200cm) and a sleep bench (140X200cm). On the second floor four more bedrooms (three have a sink too) are situated as well as an extra bathroom (toilet, sink and 2-persons jacuzie). All the bedrooms have two single (90X200cm) beds. When you step out of the kitchen, you will find an outdoor kitchen on the limestone terrace, as well as an original wood-burning pizza-oven together with a BBQ. On the big wooden terrace you find also a daybed (250X100cm). From these terraces you can walk to the swimming-pool and to the small creek (Le Suille) The swimming-pool of LP is a round pool 5 mtr. in diameter and 90cm. deep, also with a shower and child safe fence. There are lime stone terraces around both swimming pools. A small stream runs next to the farm and on the 17 ha land, you will find a larger mountain stream with various small waterfalls, also various wild animals live here as there are: stone goats, wild pigs, deers, eagles, foxes etc. The flora and fauna is fully present. On our 17 ha preys walk our two ponies (Honey and Marinda). When someone of us is present, it is possible to ride on one of our ponies, or to make a ride on a small carriage. A walking track along the farm goes to the top of the impressive "Serre Gros". The surroundings of the farm. The farm is situated in the drome-provencal. The drome is a department of France and the provence is a region, the little farm thus lies in the part of the drome, that belongs to the region the provence. The fermette is situated in an independent picturesque municipality, called Rochebaudin. It counts about 110 inhabitants. The barren is medieval. There is a pleasant, small restaurant, La Roche, where you can eat well. Everywhere in the surroundings, you will find various restaurants. The direct surrounding is characterised by sunflower and lavender fields. Surrounded by a mountainous landscape, is situated, the barren Eyzahut. Characteristic for this small mountain village are their cliffs : an impressive cliff faces for miles. This wall can be climbed from different sides (You see this cliff looking out of the windows of our farm.) This mountain rug is called "Serre Gros", it peaks at approximately 990m high. For sport-minded people, there is the possibility to take a good bicycle-tour on the calm roads (the tourist-office in La Bégude-de-Mazenc has various bicycle route descriptions). There are a lot of sport activities to do e.g.: you can go hiking, bicycling, mountain biking, parasailing, horse riding, play golf, play tennis, swimming, sports flying, Distances from the farm: Paris: ca 600 km.
